STARTUP : PM Modi Calls – Start Up India Stand Up India

I Create.
I Take Risks.
I Live My Passion.
I am an Entrepreneur.

On 15th August, 2015, PM Narendra Modi had announced about the ‘Start-up India, Stand-up India’ programme which would aim to promote entrepreneurship at the grassroot level and target youth from the lowest strata of the Indian society. In December, he reiterated his intention to create new opportunities and promote innovation and fresh thinking in youth during his radio programme ‘Mann ki Baat’.

Modi announced that on January 16, the government of India will unveil the full Action Plan for the programme. It will be connected to the most eminent educational institutions of the country – such as IITs, IIMs, NITs and Central Universities – as well as other ‘youth hubs’ in India.

Apart from live connectivity, the programme will make it easier to obtain bank finance for new startup ventures and offer incentives to new entrepreneurs and job creators. Modi promised that not only urban youth but youth from every nook and corner of India will soon have access to opportunities and ways to give wings to their dreams.

Delivering his address two days after Christmas, Prime Minister pointed out that India has a ‘festival-driven economy’. Such festivals present wonderful opportunities to promote tourism in India too.

In the 20-minute address, Modi mentioned that ‘National Youth Festival’ is being held in Raipur from January 12 to 16 which has the theme of ‘Indian Youth on Skill Development & Harmony’. He also mentioned that while ‘rights’ of citizens have always been highlighted, it is the time to focus on our ‘duties’ too.

Modi has challenged us to make our country the ‘Startup Capital of the World’. Do you dare to accept his challenge?
